We are within ten days of finishing harvest and I would sign a contract to have harvest weather every year like we had this year!

Today has been an exciting day. It’s the first day of harvest and we are picking ten tons each of Los Alamos Chardonnay and Los Alamos “Clone 777” Pinot Noir. We are trying to duplicate what we did in 2008 when we made our multiple Gold Medal and Best of Class winning Brut Sparkling Wine.

We are right in the middle of growing the 2012 grapes. The crop is taking shape and looks promising. We are starting to prepare for harvest mode. It’s that time again.

Spring is off to a fast start. After several hot days and a good rain, the vines are three weeks ahead of last year. 2011 was one of our coolest growing seasons, yielding one of our smallest crops.
