November, 2017

From the Ground Up
Just one more day and Harvest 2017 is over. To sum it up, crop was average in size. Quality of the grapes was exceptional, especially in Pinot Noir and Cabernet.

There’s Something for Everyone in Solvang, Including the Wine Connoisseur

Donna Polizzi

Noozhawk

Solvang is one of the most charming communities on the Central Coast, but locals love it as home to some of the world’s most extravagant pastries. The Danish town is chock full of fantastic bakeries, with delicious butter cookies and Danishes to die for.

The renowned Aebleskiver, which means “pancake puffs” in Danish, are addicting and will melt in your mouth.

Fortunately, each night has been borderline, but we did need to be there in case temperatures dropped near daybreak. We’re really just babysitters of the vineyard.

March, 2015

From the Ground Up
We already have bud break taking place.  It’s not extensive but it requires us to be prepared for the frost which we’ve seen for the past four nights with lows of 28°F

Young grapes at harvest

November, 2013

From the Ground Up
Harvest 2013 is over!  For the first time in 42 years, we had large crops back to back and outstanding weather that enabled us to pick our grapes at optimum levels of maturity.  2012 and 2013 will be superior vintage years.

November, 2012

From the Ground Up

We are within ten days of finishing harvest and I would sign a contract to have harvest weather every year like we had this year!
