Sail Croatia on a private luxury motor yacht with Lucas & Lewellen
Visit Split, Stari Grad or Vis, Hvar, Mljet, Dubrovnik, Korcula, Makarska, and back to Split overnight
Join Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards as we charter a private luxury yacht and sail the Adriatic Coast for 7 glorious days in the spring.
Visit the ancestral homeland of Louis Lucas and explore the islands that were farmed by his grape-growing grandparents and great-grandparents. Throughout the week, we will explore this beautiful and historic region, the backdrop of Game of Thrones, while we taste the Dalmatian cuisine and fresh fish, walk the beaches, and leave no local wine untasted.
This exclusive sailing will include time with Louis Lucas (Mike Lewellen will step in if the vineyards or unforeseen circumstances unexpectedly keep Louis at home), breakfast and three-course lunch on the yacht, a Lucas & Lewellen wine-paired Captain's Dinner, a village dinner, and a few walking tours. The yacht will dock in port overnight giving you time to explore the stops, enjoy a restaurant or wine bar, and take in the local nightlife before boarding.
The itinerary is flexible and weather dependent but our tentative plans are to visit Split, Stari Grad (or Vis, weather dependent), Hvar, Mljet, Dubrovnik, Korcula (or Vis, weather dependent), Makarska, and back to Split overnight.
April is an excellent time to visit sunny Croatia. Although we may encounter rain or clouds, we will avoid the heat and crowding of this popular destination.
We have room for 36 guests on this sailing and it will sell out very very fast.

Pricing averages at $3,000 per person, double occupancy.
ON APRIL 16th, the ship departs the Harbor at 1 pm sharp!
Note: This is our first ever Lucas & Lewellen private charter. As such, the program is a bit looser than what travelers have experienced with us before (and that may be the thing we are most looking forward to!). The itinerary is not "set in stone" and is weather dependent and subject to change. Only two dinners are pre-planned. The rest are on your own or with friends that you meet onboard while we wander into town and experience the local culture. The ship docks overnight so at most stops, we can return to the yacht late in the evening, which is new for us. We will sail in the mornings during breakfast and lunch. There is a swim stop between breakfast and lunch but we are guessing the water will be too chilly to swim, except for the very brave, so the rest of us will gather on the sun deck and enjoy the views instead. The double beds will sell out quickly so if you can tolerate a fixed twin, please choose that option. If winery co-owner/grower Louis Lucas is not able to join us, co-owner Mike Lewellen will host in his place and we will still move forward and have a great time and send pictures back to Louis to show him all the fun he is missing out on, but he promises to come. It may rain and we cannot prevent that, but April is a great month to visit, summers are very hot, and we expect to enjoy ourselves nonetheless. We will bring a selection of Lucas & Lewellen wines to pair with the Captain's Dinner and a few others to sample along the way but this trip will focus on the wines of Croatia. There will no formal talks as we share the time together. There are a few included organized excursions, and a few optional excursions that you can sign up for onboard, if they are available. Louis would like to visit the winery of a friend as an optional excursion but whether we can make the timing and transport work for the group remains to be announced when we board. We expect this trip to sell out very quickly, so fair warning. Space is far too limited for a trip that is going to be this popular. We will announce to Wine Club members and their friends first before opening to all Lucas & Lewellen wine fans.
